Toy Story 4 (2019) Full Movie is an Animation, Adventure, Comedy Film that is directed by Josh Cooley. The Film based on the Forky. After unveiling a short teaser last February, live-action “Toy Story 4 online HD movie” is now offering its first trailer. This is the moment, ” In the classic nursery rhyme, she is generally depicted as a pretty yet passive young shepherdess, waiting for her sheep to come home.
As she makes her return to popular culture in Toy Story 4, Bo Peep will be given a newly feminist makeover to don practical trousers to seize “control of her own destiny”.
The makers of Toy Story 4 have spoken of how their modern Bo Peep will be “independent and comfortable” for the latest installation of the film franchise, saving the day.
Missing from the last film, the character found herself sick of gathering dust and “took it upon herself to head out into the world” and make her return, the director said.
Wearing trousers instead of her old, pink floor-length shepherdess dress and bonnet, the new version of the Bo Peep is simply the “right way to tell the story”, he added, with a team of six women assigned to making sure she was fit for the cinema in 2019.
When, at the end of Toy Story 3 (2010), the character Andy leaves his beloved toys with Bonnie, a neighborhood girl, and leaves for college, it’s fair to say that most fans of the franchise thought that this would be the end . A glorious end, as the five nominations for the Oscars, two statues, and a Golden Globe, among many other awards. But nine years later, Pixar and Disney take to theaters – next Thursday, 20 – Toy Story 4, a new story with Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Bonnie and several new characters.
“There’s always a risk in every movie we do, but especially because people love it so much,” says director Josh Cooley (this is his debut for Pixar feature films, although he has worked in the studio since 2003) . “We enjoyed the end of Toy Story 3. But a few years ago, talking about Woody and his journey, we understood that was not the end of his story. There was the end of his time with Andy, but not the end of his trajectory. We then found a story that deserved to be told and valuable enough to take the title of Toy Story 4. Many years of hard work, sweat and tears were condensed in my sentences, “he says.
In the new film, Woody (voiced, as always, by Tom Hanks) is in a situation unheard of for him: Bonnie, his new owner, is about to start kindergarten, and the cowboy wants to make sure the little girl’s insecurity does not turn out in no problem. In his familiar manner – and with a bit of overprotection – he hides in her backpack and accompanies her to the school. There, on the first day, still timid, Bonnie builds a new toy, a character that is a breath of fresh air in the franchise: Garfinho.
For not being exactly a toy, the character sustains a naivety (and an existential crisis) that yields the funniest moments of the film – but also the more continuous reflection of the work.
“We were sitting in the breeding room, wondering what it really means to be a toy,” recalls Cooley. “We talk about how children sometimes, when they get a gift, play more with the box than with the object itself. Is the box alive? What gives life to a toy? This issue has never appeared in any of the Toy Story movies. The idea has grown and it has become that character, Garfinho, who does not know what the rules are or how the world works. ”
Another character that returns with prominence is Betty, the porcelain doll that has secondary role in the first two films of the series. In the search for a lost Garfinho, Woody finds her “in the street”: she left the toy home life to venture into the world, and this new perspective catches the cowboy by surprise. It’s a new way of looking at life.
“One of the things we emphasize during the production of the new story is that Woody is not exactly a nice character, because he is almost always guided by fear, anger, insecurity or anxiety. In the first movie, he’s a bastard (laughs), “says Cooley. “But there’s something so real about it, so human. And Tom Hanks turns everything into something palatable, fun. He has the natural ability to interpret all these things and make you understand. He’s the Tom Hanks of acting (laughs). ”
She now wears a blue jump suit and purple cape, wielding her crook as a weapon.
The animated series has come under particular scrutiny in the last year after the departure of John Lasseter, a Pixar founder and Toy Story director who left his role at Disney Animation admitting “missteps” after accusations about his behaviour including “unwanted hugs”.
In an interview with the Sunday Times culture magazine, Toy Story 4 creators insisted the on-screen changes to female roles were not the direct result of a post-Me Too era philosophy.
“It never came up in a meeting,” said Josh Coole, the director. “Like, ‘We need to make a stand on feminism.’
“It was more a question of what the right way to tell the story was, and we wanted to make Bo stronger than before.
“When Woody is insecure in the old films, she gets him back on track, and we decided to elevate that…
“Things like that came naturally, and we started five years ago, so had no idea how times might change.”
Actress Annie Potts, who voices Bo Peep, said: “She’s gotten all wise and courageous. She is a fierce warrior.”
The newspaper reports that a team of six women had been appointed to update the “stuffy character”, making her athletic with inspirations including Rey from Star Wars, a gymnast and Geena Davis in the baseball film A League of Their Own.
While the dress-wearing Bo Peep was seen as “Feminine and Reserved”, it said, the modern version should be “Independent and Comfortable”.
“While Woody was watching Andy grow up, Bo gathered dust until she took it upon herself to head out into the world. And when Woody shows up, they can’t believe that they’ve found each other again.”
Robbie Collin, Telegraph reviewer who awarded Toy Story 4 five stars, described the character as “unceremoniously written out of the series between instalments two and three, but here revived as a free spirit in retirement, sunnily embracing her new-found childlessness”.
